BioHey, I love to read fanfics and someday soon I hope to write a fic or two myself. My all time favorite fandom is btvs but the ultimate character in that is Xander. I love him and it is totally great when an author crosses him over into a different fandom. Honestly I am a crossover slut. If a crossover fic has at least to fandoms I know in it I'll read it. That is usually how I get into new and different fandoms.
